What gets the fastest, most useful replies:

• Browser/device quirks — a mic that meters in one browser but not another, a device the picker lists oddly, a permission flow that doesn’t match what we describe. Tell us the browser + version, OS, and the device name as the tester reports it.
• Tool bugs — meter stuck at zero with a working mic, waveform frozen, a recording that won’t play back. The state badge’s text and what you clicked just before are the two clues we need most.
• Guide corrections — anything in mic not working, sample rate & bit depth, permissions or USB vs headset that’s wrong or out of date. OS privacy menus move every release — screenshots of the new path are gold.

One request before writing about a dead mic: run the tester first and tell us which state it ended in (“access denied”, “no microphone”, “flat line”) — that narrows the diagnosis to one layer immediately.
